After I have finished college I was thinking of continuing my studies at the university that I have chosen. I am planning to apply for a TV and Film course to the universities I have chosen.
In order to know which University I should apply to, I am planning to attend the opening days of the Universities that I think could be suitable for me.
On 4th of October, Stanmore organised a UAL talk with the Arts & Media students to give us the information we need to know about what UAL is and what they do. I have met one of the students at UAL that does the course that I am interested in doing and asked her some questions about the course and she recommended me the 'insights' program that they organise throughout the year and I will be attend the autumn-winter TV and Film insights program.
On Saturday 8th of October, I have attended Middlesex University Open Day and I really liked it. They provides the students very new and professional filming equipments and was really helpful in terms of answering questions about the course or the campus.
These are 5 of my university choices that I am interested in attending next year.

Personal Statement Final Draft
Art have always been a favourite hobby of mine ever since I was young. There were no toys in my household when I was little because of financial problems and colouring books were the cheapest choice in terms of entertainment for kids. I would always spent my free time colouring in books and when I finish them I would try to get a new one. Then there's also cartoons. In Thailand, there was only one kids channel and the kids shows would normally consists of Anime and cartoons like Tom and Jerry and 'Pokemon'. That leads me to start drawing and creating things.
In England, Having already studying Media Studies for three years in high school, I have found the subject very fascinating and fun. Compared to other form of media, film and television is the topic that grabs my attention the most. There were also times where I would write stories in my free time and create characters of my own. After studying the theoretical side of media studies, I have passed every subject, including Maths and English, but has gotten a grade 3 for the Media Studies. This means that I have not got the required grade to continue studying in Sixth Form but I can continue studying BTEC in college. However, I realised that doing written work is not my strongest point so studying BTEC and actually learning how different equipment in the film and television industry works in college doesn't bother me. To be honest, I felt it was most preferable as I had zero knowledge of how to actually produce a film.
In the first year of studying level 3 BTEC TV and Film, I have written, casted, directed and produced a Coca-Cola advert; a music video for the song "Celebrity" by a Korean Pop artist called IU; redesigning the sounds from the 'Fridge Monster' scene of the Japanese animated series: Cowboy Bebop and an opening scene of my own interpretation of Jack the Ripper . At the end of the year, I have achieved a 'merit' for my work overall. The summer break was on the way and I was really interested in exploring the world of work and because I was not given the chance of doing work experience because of COVID-19 in secondary school, I have decided that this will be a good chance of me developing my confidence, communication and social skills. For one of our unit from college, we have to find a work placement that is related to the subject that we are studying, in this case Media, and I have found a placement at Radio Harrow. Radio Harrow is a local charity radio station that promotes the health and well being of the local communities so it is a volunteer work and even though the work starts at 19:45 to 22:00, I would always feel energised and excited to present a show there every Wednesday.
After joining Radio Harrow, I realised as to why I keep being fascinated by the world of media. The world of Media can be very complex and stressful when something planned doesn't go as planned but the people that we meet and being able to share my passion with someone who also love them (or not) as much as I do really makes those hardships really worth it. The world of media, especially film, also make me see that one is never alone, we always work as a team so if we are struggling we will always help each other overcome those hardships and that's what makes the process of making a project so memorable and fun. I am a type of person that would like to have an employment in the future where I can enjoy what I do while also being able to showcase my personality and create something that makes other people happy. These are the reason I have decided to continue my studies in Film and Television at University because I would then feel confident with my skills enough to go ahead and achieve the dream of starting a successful independent film production company that my friends and I will put all of our hearts and souls into in the future.
Journalism Talk
On the 15th of November, we had Sarah who is a Journalist came in to have a talk about journalism. We were talking about how journalism
Writing in general plays a big role in the Media industry. In Film and Television, we use the skill of writing to write scripts, which is a very vital element in film and television.

University Offers:
Ways to promote myself
Website
ADVANTAGES
Having a website means that I can control my own identity online. Since I would be designing my own website, I would be sure to add elements of what represent me and what I do. For example, I would add in my own work to promote what my style of work is and this also go with a matching colour pallet, writing font and the layout of my website.
Having a website make the costumers trust me more as it shows the professionalism in my work and a website certainly makes things 'official', unlike promoting my self on social media platforms. Promoting on social media platforms are free so many people might be taking my business seriously, whereas I have to pay get my website done and therefore the costumers would take me and my business more seriously.
DISADVANTAGES
If I am going to promote myself on a website, it means that I would have to pay for it. The more professional I want it to look and work, the more it is going to cost me.
Linkedin
ADVANTAGES
Linkedin allows me to be able to connect with people who have worked or is currently still working in the industry that I am interested in being a part of in the future.
The connection allows me to learn more about the industry through the person I have made connection with and can also help increase the chance of getting a job in my desired industry.
DISADVANTAGES
I feel like it might not be that easy to make connection on Linkedin as effectively as one may expect unless they have already made a connection in person.
Making connection through Linkedin doesn't actually GUARANTEE one's employment in the job they want to do.
Instagram
ADVANTAGES
Instagram is the perfect platform to promote creative industries. Just take photos or make a short video for the product/project one is doing can make the account public so other people can view it and like the video/pictures to show support for one's project.
Instagram can help promote one's self to a large audience as Instagram is available to many countries worldwide.
DISADVANTAGES
One can only promote themselves with pictures and videos but can't actually tell the audience in detail of what you background story is and talk about the project in detail unless they link a website or any other type of platform on their Instagram account.
One's content on the platform have to be appealing enough for the audience to like it and gain a lot of attention before spreading your promotion worldwide, this can result in the promotion being unsuccessful and time consuming.
